Space and Time

...one more wonderful grungy altern rock number by one of my favourites....The Verve...from their album the Urban Hymns....this one comes with words describing my first ever love to the brink.....all it was that we shared was existence...there was no space and time.....for our love....neither are there real truths..nor real lies....neither are there lullabies...nor tears shed.....wow......quite likely so.....for the track is one nice number....the electric and bass guitars playfully running along with Richard Ashcroft's sharp voice......it has got a very classique feel to it....quite like the early nineties when it was composed.......have a calm and cool night...tune into this number and make it all the more serene.....enjoy!!!

Telugu-thanam....

heyy.....bowing to the awesomely sweet language that my mother tongue telugu is...here i go craving about one track of the times that tickles my sweet buds....all over.....this one if from a film soundtrack....composed by one very funky Sandeep Chowtha for the movie "Josh-Youth Rocks"....
now the best part about this track should be the amazingly sweet lyrics...its been a while since i've heard a telugu song that sounded so original and yet without any adulteration in the form of "yos...cmon baby's...et all".....completely devoid of stupid raps nd remixes....this track runs on a very nice 6 string note and simple beats all through..while singer Karthik provides really smooth words on and out....the melody is pretty much original... just with a hint of nostalgia somewhere that pricks me really nicely.....cheers to the lyrics, guitar notes, and karthik's voice....listen to this one...and count on me...u wud start humming right away....enjoy!!!

Shiver....dont you darling!!!

hmm......tell me one thing......was there ever a song to describe your situation absolutely from tip to toe......and did it happen to be by your favourite band...how coincident would that be......yes, it would be precisely coincidential yet amazingly true...as it is in my case......now, its an evident notion that 'Shiver' by Coldplay from their first album "Parachutes" is an amazing track....the cliche is that at this point of my lifetime...it describes my life to the brink....well atleast as far as things are between me and my first ever flame....now I look in her direction.....yet she pays no attention.....yet from the moment i wake to the one when i sleep,i am by her side mentally....i want to say.."if there's something that you worry...dont you shiver darling...i'll always be waiting for you...and shall help to make things better"......yes, its absolutely the kind of condition I find myself in and such are the words from the beautiful track.....with its brilliant 6 string distortions in a disturbed note....its sense of urgency....and the effervescent crooning of Chris Martin...not to forget mentioning Guy and Johnny's cool guitar work and the punch packed in by Will with the drums....the kind of jazzy feel this song carries and that lurking pain in it.....ooh..i'm in so much deja vu everytime i listen to this number.....kudos coldplay....

Tracks for the season-Summer 09

folks...this summer has been something really special for me....I've had some really enticing, hurting and exciting experiences....There have been some very happy moments and some equally paining moments for me this summer which eventually led to me being more philosophical..(last heard my friends cribbing about me being too much philosophical.,h3h3..) ....and how better to express my emotions than in some good music...so here are some tracks that have been playing in my heart this summer....
  • Stop and Stare - One Republic..A track of desperation..something i found in myself this summer....
  • Motorcycle Emptiness - Manic Street Preachers.....dedicated to my dad's motorcycle, an HH Splendour....which helped me improve my riding skills and off course left me being motorcycle empty i.e. without the much awaited pillion.....
  • Life in Technicolor 2 - Coldplay....how come a music compilation of mine is complete without coldplay in it....this one especially plugged itself into my ears everytime i hit the highway....
  • Magnificent - U2 ...dedicated to all those magnificent places I've seen this summer..both natural and artificial....
  • Waiting for You - Oye - Yuvan Shankar Raja.....one more love desperate track.....resembled my emotions quite literally....
  • Dost bada Dost - Saroja - Yuvan Shankar Raja.....a track dedicated to all those wonderful moments I had with my friends ..miss you all guys...
  • Awakening - Switchfoot.....a nice freak out track to lift my spirits up...which I've been frantically trying this summer..and off course was successful to a major extent...
  • Neelalu Garu Kanulalo - Evaraina Epudaina - Manisharma....a nice balladic track.....after quite sometime by mani....for those painful moments.....
..I could go on and on....but thats about it for now.....check these songs out...and enjoy folks....!!!

Iris

this line says it all..."you're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be..".....a beautiful and overtly romantic ballad by the Goo Goo Dolls for the amazing motion picture "City of Angels"....this one has won hearts over the world and then some.....the way the 6 strings are pulled over the entire song with lovely violin renderings over in the background really make it special.....the powerful bass string plucked in rhythm.....and needless to mention the lovely vocals.....every bit of them being entirely legendary.....based on the movie's theme...yet feeling totally balladic and enticing...the best i've ever come across....going along "dont want the world to see me, coz i dont think that they'd understand....".....a toast to the band featuring John Rzeznik (vocals, guitar), Robby Takac (vocals, bass guitar), and George Tutuska (drums, percussion).......kudos!!!

Yes, get back to life!!!

wow...what a track, this one...it comes form the all time super rock band Pink Floyd, from their album The Division Bell....i heard it from my brother who first heard it from his fav DJ at the local pub....its a lovely piece of vintage rock n roll ....starting off with a c minor chord followed later on by vocals and guitar solos....with electric guitar being free strung all along on a very blue lounge mood recording....amazing vocal renderings......the band featuring vocalist David Gilmour who dedicated this song to his wife Polly Samson, while the theme of the song kicks in seeing the rest of the band including Richard Wright (Synthesizerz and hammond organ), Nick Mason (drums), Guy Pratt (bass guitar) and John Carin (additional keyboards) join in to create a svelte and subdued yet untimely romantic track......the best bit being the vocals.."killing the past and coming back to life"......I'd definitely love to sing this one to my love.....

To the maestro,I raise a toast!!!

This goes to the all time music maestro in Tamil and Telugu Music...Ilayaraja...special mention on this one song "Jaamurathiri Jaabilamma"..from the flick "Kshana Kshanam"...starring Venky and Sridevi and directed by RGV...the song features awesome recording of all those little pitter patters that accompany any natural habitat..specifically a forest in this case..with the usual Ilayaraaja rendering of melody and 90s hip beats....sweet flute and violin applications...and those sensible and light lyrics penned....needless to mention the ecstatic vocal rendering by S.P.Balasubrahmaniam and S.P.Sailaja(needs confirmation here,folks,sorry)...i specially love the shimmering use of bass and electric guitars, here and there...an absolute hoot of a song for a romantic evening with your soulmate..or for slithering into sleep...this is as sweet as telugu music goes..kudos maestro!!!

Speed of Sound

Heyy folks,
its time for our song of the day...its called "Speed of Sound" by my all time Favourit band..Coldplay..is a british band (proof enough that british things got charm,eh?)....consisting of four major players...Chris Martin(lead vocals, piano, guitar),Jonny Buckland(lead guitar),Guy Berryman(bass guitar) and Will Champion(drums, backing vocals,multi-instruments). The song has amazing piano and guitar notes and falls on a sweet lonenly note with the lyrics falling into themes of innocence regarding science and technology....indirectly relating to a condition aspiring freedom into this wonderful world...a case of commitment and desperation before gaining ultimate enlightenment...what newton wud have sung as the apple fell off the tree..or what the wright bros wud have sung on seeing birds fly nd discovering the phenomenon of lift....indeed technical as well..as it begins with "How long before I get in,before it starts, before I Begin?"...truly marvellous..in fact this was the song that made me follow rock music as a purist..though I'm still an amateur here..check out the song, nd count me on getting up juvenile....Cheers!

Heyy folks,
Why does violence occur?
I guess its out of difference of opinion, irritation and frustration, right??
When you feel like you can't stand it any longer, you resort to violence,am I wrong?
Unless its with some sort of secret intentions, long term benefits, the works...that lead to huge meaningless wars...little strifes, disturbances and riots are out of frustration and irritation, rite?
I seem to have a solution for this,then...
Just plug into a rock song, any rock song and scream along with the vocalist to let out the frustration and irritation....I've tried this several times and trust me it works..once you're done screaming along a couple of rock songs..you'd have no more of that irritation left in u..not any..and whats more, you'd feel a lot more relaxed and free then...what say?
And the mantra...relax,enjoy, and remember "life is too short to be wasted in strifes and anger"..listen to music and enjoy instead!
for the record, u could check out albums by Metallica, Iron Maiden, ...the works!!!
I hope I left no offences....!!!

A.R.Rahman...way 2 go!

It becomes almost auspicious to start blogging here lauding one remarkable composer right from the Indian soil, A.R.Rahman...a maestro!..With a golden globe, a BAFTA, and 2 Academy Awards it is needless to say that he is extremely fantabulous!...no dispute ..the albums and music dished out by him are always the best...no matter whatever 'zamaana' one's in one cannot miss rahman's music..right from 'Roja' to today's 'Slumdog' and 'Connections' Rahman's music has always been timeless and appealing to evryone....the tracks always sound way ahead of the time and still never feel bored out or out of tune..he's just incredible..besides no matter what number of awards he's gotten..he always stayed quite humble and shud I say a little shy as well...watch him at an award function and you'll know...no wonder he's a master..only the other maestro Ilayaraja coming closer....here's hoping he dishes out more albums and keeps us enthralled and humming all the way...Kudos!!!
